Filbin Lab Philosophy
The Filbin Lab is focused on defining the plasticity and heterogeneity of pediatric brain tumors. By defining the programs that either control “stemness” or “differentiated” cancer cell states as well as the intrinsic and extrinsic factors influencing these states, we can develop novel approaches for new therapies.
Pediatric Brain Tumors: Current Active Research
- Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG)
- Hemispheric High-grade Glioma and Gliomatosis Cerebri (GC-HGG)
- Ependymoma (EPN)
- Embryonal Tumor with Multilayered Rosettes (ETMR)
- Pineoblastoma
By integrating multiple experimental modalities, our lab gains a variety of perspectives and insights on pediatric brain tumors, helping us to comprehensively understand this multifaceted disease.
